I can't believe 2005 has finally left the building. NYE was awesome despite me missing out on the fireworks. I had my own fireworks experience in my head around those closest to me.

It's been a truly great year for me, with many first time experiences, both good and bad. As I reflect back on the year, it's all one big fat blur. I can't exactly pinpoint every single event but somehow I can see the big fat blur as one which was great.

My 20th birthday came and went. I thank those friends who made an effort to show themselves, whether it was through material gestures or otherwise. I received some very thoughtful gifts but some poignant ones which I absolutely adore in no particular order:

* Maggie's hand-made card which was 3 wks early ROFL
* Andrew's beautiful journal and metal cow
* Kit's "newspaper article" commemorating my birthday
* Agatha's hand-drawn card and lovely earrings
* Amazon looking top from Melody
* Jen's Kookai makeup purse
* Gift voucher from Peggy which I bought Simpsons Season 3
* A new mobile phone to myself from myself :p
* A beautiful hand-made card and a vintage pin-up girl ash tray from Vani

I was quite disappointed by certain others. But that's what you get when you expect which is why I hate expectations. I wish I didn't feel the need to expect. But I only expect a card, especially from those who I thought did have some meaning in my life.

I do feel different this year after turning 20. I've changed my opinions on certain values and certain people; then again, that's expected. Change is the only constant in life.

But now it's 2006 so time to embrace it. Let's bring in 2006 with a quiz everyone seems to be doing. Oh sweet sweet nostalgia.
